Updated Studio, now my Opacity's all wonky

This is my renders with DAZ 4.22.0.1 using iRAY 1.12.0.1 (see attachment 1):

I upgraded to 4.22.0.15 using iRAY1.12.0.15, and now my renders look like this (see attachment 2 - no changes have been made to the shaders of any figures):

That dark area around her forehead and temples is the opacity from the hair cap.  Every hair item that has a cap has this opacity issue coming through on figures.  Has anyone else been running into this with the most recent updates?

@quasimondo1933_d9c60fcfb4 This is what Richard is referring to (see screenshot). Just toggling the Instancing Optimization from one setting to another causes some values to be recalculated and fix some problems like that. It is not that one setting is better than another, it is the act of changing it that is important. You can even set it back to your original value if that is important to your work (like scenes with thousands of instances usually need to be set to Instancing Optimization Memory, not Speed).

  • That did the trick.  Oddly enough, the opacity issue still pops up in the preview, but as long as it doesn't affect the final product, you have my thanks.

Thanks for letting us know that worked for you. It is a handy trick that helps when eyes look black, too. Keep it in your bag of tricks for future problem solving.
