That's what I heard.
Let's face it, very little in the DAZ store has much to do with historical accuracy.
.. I got teh set anyway as could always find uses for it and the other props The chopping block, gallows, pillory, and pyre are more authentic to the period
But why doesn't it have high heels?
Not really. As the Halifax Gibbet shows, medieval style looks distinctly different. The one in the store is also far too short.
I want 'medieval guillotine.'
I am searching all over the store for the (not historically accurate, Oh My!) prop named Medieval Guillotine. I must add it to my guillotine collection! Really. I have more than one 3D public execution prop. When I worked in DC, I got to witness first hand the symbolic public execution of quite a few public figures. It is a fun hobby with my former colleagues to predict where some famous person stands in the queue for the allegorical guillotine, and then watch the headlines (head-line, queue, guillotine, get it? ugh). I am very proud to have selected William Penn for my bingo card. Cha-ching! All in the spirit of nerdy fun among over-educated librarians.
Has the name of the prop been changed? Is it one of these? (I already have them both)

With the store on sale, I must know now if there are any guillotines missing from my collection, historically inaccurate though they might be!
I suppose it could be used to remove high heels if you very, very carefully positioned the subject wearing them so the blade only chopped off the appropriate bits.
It is this: https://www.daz3d.com/capital-punishment
Thank you! Into the cart it goes. Nice Daz+ price.
I recently watched a Documentary on Franz Schmidt, Dusseldorf's prolific executioner who wrote a diary about his job.
not the composer of the same name
he often says he beheaded so and so as a favour
because hanging really sucked, being broken on the wheel or hung and quartered was worse
I think families could pay for the favour
The guillotine would have been a blessing for those unfortunate to face the full brunt of the law, drowning or immolation certainly were not pleasant ends either.
It doesn't actually say Medieval in the description but the wood tied together by rope look and the scenery used in the promo is definitely in the Daz Medieval style.
It looks good to me. You're getting a scaffold, gallows with opening trap door, noose, pillory, chopping block and a pyre for buning witches as well as the guillotine and it has 3Delight shaders as well as Iray, something I always like to see. Just the thing for some of my more sinister medieval fantasy scenes.
Nomenclature is frequently inaccurate. Doesn't really matter. Shiny new guillotine in store isn't medieval, except in the sense of being sort of barbaric and horrible. Still, it looks good. https://www.daz3d.com/infantry-fighting-vehicle lacks qualities of an infantry fighting vehicle. It would still work fine as an armed drone or robot. That's what it looks like in the promo images. Daz+ folks even received free remotes. At least one of those could control it.
Dozens of other examples of things in Daz store that fail in nomenclature or expected function. Yet they're still entertaining, attractive, and useful. No actual complaints.
If you put the guillotine and the IFV in the cart, the price on them drops. That's kinda cool. Oh, wait! Add the bamboo furniture or the granite shaders and price on all of them drops even more! Can get IFV and guillotine for $2 ea, and 3rd item for similar discount. Guess I'm buying something after all!
Added pricing example.
I like the unmanned light vehicle way more than any other Daz combat robots. This thing might not look very hi-scifi, but it's way more functional. This is how I imagine functional combat robots when I do anything scifi. It's just the unfortunate naming.
+1 @PixelSploiting
The link for the infantry fighting vehicle appeared on my iPhone split between lines, so I read it as "Infant Fighting Vehicle"...
That could be cute or sinister depending on one's perspective and imagination.
They... were not.
"Fun" fact! The late great Sir Christopher Lee witnessed The Last Public Execution By Guillotine in 17 June 1939 in France!
I think that is crazy to think.

Does anything around here make sense? You can't find an airplane because when you search on AIRPLANE, actual airplanes do not use that keyword. Try searching on STEAMPUNK and see what comes up that isn't steampunk. To be fair, BatGirl in the 1960's Batman show did wear high heels. The old Batman was actually really bad which is why it was so good. But schlock is usually schlock. Daz products would greatly improve and PA's would make a lot more money if we were able to call out bad products, it's very rare when threads like this don't get deleted.
I have to admit I'd never look for an 'Airplane'. I might look for an 'Aeroplane', but that's due to my regional variation in English. What gets me is that looking for a 'Dragon' only gets one hit, SKU 00258, and misses out the Mil Dragon, Dragon 3 and every other dragonling/wyvern etc etc. And all those have the actual word 'Dragon' in the title. I can programme a better search (and have, in a text editor I wrote for myself). It really isn't hard.
Ah well, it depends on availability of programmer time and desire to invest in it. I will confess there are things I'd prefer to be concentrated upon, but I'm not responsible for juggling those resources.
@MetalSunde94, I had no idea about Christopher Lee and the execution. It sounds almost bizzare enough to be a Wikipedia invented fact, but there seem to be enough other attributions of sufficient age for it to be a real bizzare fact. Just nuts.

Richard
I was a data analyst for 16 years. I could show Daz how to increase sales by 10% without them adding a single new product. It frustrates me to no end that simple changes would allow buyers to find existing products. Their only solution for decreasing revenue is to increase prices which causes buyers to purchase even less. A good example is right here, who the heck would ever seach using CAPTIAL PUNISHMENT?
Torquinox, did you say that your Infantry Fighting Vehicle came with a remote control for it?
The Infantry Fighting Vehicle does not come with a remote control. I think Torquinox was refering to the DAZ weekly freebie which was a set of remotes.
This^
Three men are sentenced to death by the guillotine..
The first man was a priest. The executioner says, “You can go on the guillotine either face up or face down.”
The priest says, “I want to die face up, looking up to the heavens.”
So the priest lies face up. The executioner releases the blade; the blade falls rapidly but suddenly stops just 1 inch from the priest’s neck. Given the miracle, the priest is allowed to walk free.
The next man was an alcoholic. The executioner offers him the same choice, “Do you want to lie facing up or facing down?”
The alcoholic says, “I want to face up … to remember my glorious drinking days.”
So the alcoholic lies face up. The executioner releases the blade, and again, it suddenly stops just 1 inch from the man’s neck. Given the miracle, the alcoholic is allowed to walk free.
Finally, it’s the last man’s turn. He’s an engineer. Once again, the executioner offers him the same choice, “Face up or face down?”
The engineer scratches his head and says, “Face up I guess.”
So the engineer lies face up. Just as the executioner is about to release the blade, the engineer starts shouting. “Wait! Wait! I’ve found the problem!”
^LMAO
Thanks for the clarification Charlie Judge and Torquinox.
Are there any poses for this?? I'm having problems getting shoulders correct so the arms line with the holes.
Not that I am aware of.
I assume you refer to the pillory. A pose wouldn't match if the character has a different hight.
In my view the key to get it posed is a combination of shoulder and upper arm.
That's where the chopper comes in -- just remove those recalcitrant body parts.
Ah... here they are.
