Help with Generation X2

Hello. I just reciently bought Generation X2 and I'm trying to transfer the Spandex Morph from Michael 3 to Genesis. I've been getting this error each time I've tried though.

GenX - Transferring morphs.

Loading target geometry ...

Loading figure ...

C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Genesis.dsf

Applying shape morphs to target ...

Error loading target morph: CloneMichael3

This is all greek to me so I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me what it is I might be doing wrong. Any help is appreciated.

    Have you got the Generation 3 add-on for Genx2? It's here: http://www.daz3d.com/genx-addon-gen3-for-v3-and-m3

This is what allows you to use GenX2 on Michael 3 and Victoria 3 - GenX2 itself only covers M4, V4 and Kids4 in itself.

ETA: There are a whole bunch of add-ons to cover various other figures, some available as bundles - look here: http://www.daz3d.com/dimension3d

Yes. As far as I know it installed correctly through install manager. I

Hm, I've not used GenX2 for quite a while and I'm not at my desktop PC where I have it all installed at the moment - I'll try to do that transfer myself within the next couple of hours and see whether there seem to be any magic about it. Not wanting to sound rude, but have you read the manual that comes with GenX2? (You'd be surprised how many people don't do that!)

I can't remember off-hand where the add-ons are supposed to install, but I can take a look at my setup later and see whether there's any way the DIM setup isn't putting things in the right place. Or maybe someone else will drop in to help before I'm back.

I've been reading through the manual but I haven't as of yet ran into an explation for this issue. I've tried GenX2 with Michael 4 without issues. It's probably something that's stareing me right in the face and I just don't see it.

Sorry for the delay, took longer than I thought to get started.

SO next question, do you have this: http://www.daz3d.com/v3-and-m3-shapes-for-genesis (which is also a prereq for GenX2 M3/V3 add-on)? If I remove that product then I get the same error message as you about the missing CloneMichael3 morph.

Nope I don't have that product. I'll give it a try later and I'll let you know how things work out.

OK - I'm really sorry I didn't spot that earlier blush

  • Well I downloaded the v3 m3 shapes for genesis and tried again. The results were mixed. While the spandex morphs worked the hips not so much. The model looked like he'd crapped in his undies. Nevertheless, It is working now and I'll try again later with Victoria3.

In my DAZ Product Library for the three GenX Gen3 shapes products I have two installers.  Checking DIM, I installed the installers with the Package ID of 11, the other one has a Package ID of 1, which I left on the Ready To Download tab and "hid" them. You can see the Package ID by hovering the cursor over the product name.  If I recall correctly, the reason for the two installers is one for an older version of DS, but not sure what version the Package ID of 1 is used with.

Edit: Now that I've thought about it, it maybe the older installer is for use with the original version of GenX, as opposed to GenX2.  Anyhoo, for GenX2, definately install the one marked with Package ID 11.
