Membeship Renewel Problem

Daz took another year's subscription of me today for $70 when my subscription on friday said it runs out 25th January 2025?

And then to add insult to injury I find they have put an offer for 40% off of it, what is this all about.

And now I find out I am subscribed until 25th Jan 2026?

If my membership tells me it runs to 2025 why am I being charged before the actual renewel date, with an offer of 40% available, is this a wind up?

The system has some flaws, most predominantly that the subscription renewal date is done on a fixed schedule, *not* based on when your membership expires. (Also complicated by the fact that PayPal sets up its own subscriptions that need to be cancelled separately).

And given that purchasing another membership is handled by adding another year on to your membership, but doesn't update the subscription renewal date to match... well, it's possible to have the subscription renew even when your membership will last for years yet.

However, I had this problem before and while memberships are *normally* non-refundable, then as you're not within the membership period you're attempting to refund, then at least when I had to deal with it, they were prepared to refund the excess membership period for me.

its possible they will honor the 40% off if you file a ticket and explain what happened.

  • Thanks, I have submitted a ticket, so hopefully they'll fix it.

They should fix it. I turned off autorenewal two years ago without realizing I had to turn it off in paypal as well and got charged for another year when my membership was running out, also like two weeks before the actual date like yourself. They were like nope, we don't refund memberships no matter what. That day was during the PC+ event thing and they also had it at X percent off so I emailed back saying if I'm getting charged, I should get the advertised rate then and they gave it back to me in credit. Good luck.

Daz won't take the money if it isn't due, because you have already renewd. But Paypal will send it regardless, which is why there is (assuming it hasn't slipped off) a warning on the subscription page.

  • If I get credit that'll do, but just don't understand how they cannot refund a paypal account though?
