Can you recommend the right iray shader

Back when I was still using 3DL, there was a shader that was great for Frankensteining stuff because it worked by selecting all of the surfaces you wanted to make a match, every item with the originally different poly count, and telling the selected group to act like a single surface, then texture it. That way, if I wanted, say, a figure or face in a tree truck or cliffside, all of it could accept the texture as if it were a single element. Anyone else remember that?
Anyways, is there one like that but for Iray?

Do you mean Shades of Life? I am not aware of a shader for Iray like that, but you can project materials with Decal nodes which would yield similar results.
That was it. https://www.daz3d.com/shades-of-life-nature.
I'm not familiar with 'decal nodes.' Is it safe to assume there are video tutorials on it?
Jay did a video on using Decals, let me grab it for you...
Here you go
The same vendor also has some Iray stone shaders that look like they have projection-mapped versions: https://www.daz3d.com/uhd-minerals--shaders-and-merchant-resource
