Searching DIM for a specific creator

Is it possible to set a filter on DIM to just display a specific creator?

From the smart content panel in DAZ Studio I can search for "key::Aeon Soul" and get all of their products that I have installed and all of them waiting to be installed. But that search doesn't work in DIM as far as I can tell. I checked DIM's manual but it's out of date and doesn't mention how to search for a creator.

I'm tempted to use the smart content panel to install the products but I keep seeing people saying "don't do that"

Firstly, I would re-iterate that mixing DIM and Daz Connect is a recipe for disaster - many people have posted about issues caused by this. So you should probably pick one that works best for you and and stick with it.

Secondly, it does appear that you may be out of luck. The vendor does not appear to be an option in either the filter drop-down or the wiki list. Possibly because it appears that the vendor is not a concept known to DIM - if you hover over any product the vendor is not listed in the info popup at all.

If the vendor you are looking for is one that prefixes all their products then you can do it that way. e.g. "rx::^SY " to search for Sickleyield's products or "rx::^Z " for Zeddicuss' products.

I would say that Daz has never set "Author" as a searchable keyword in DIM, as Citizen said, no filter of Vendor can be found in DIM. It's not like Smart Content in which Author is a keyword in cms.

Well, IMHO, you don't really have to search products by Authors in DIM, just search the products in Smart Content by filtering authors because Daz3D products have been all installed via DIM ( if you only use DIM). There's no difference in terms of searching results.

If you then wanna manipulate the product(s) in DIM (e.g. uninstall... re-install...whatever) just paste the name into filter field of DIM....

The main issue would be duplicated files if the same product was installed both ways.

As explained in the not-out-of-date documentation, you could use http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/referenceguide/interface/filter_field/advanced_filtering#file to filter out every package except those that contain the name of the artist in the file path, provided that the artist is consistent in their file placement (should work on any path, including geometry or textures) - though this filter only works for installed packages.

If I need to search for a particular PA's product that I own and if they are still selling at DAZ I use their store and then selection the option to show what I own. It works.

For artists who have left, that is a problem, especially texture artists. And one reason I print the promo pages of everything I have bought or downloaded here, or at Rendo, Hivewire, or was free wherever.

That's what I've been doing, I was just hoping there was an easier way.  cheeky

Posercontent.com has better search and one can also find discontinued products there
