Daz Studio Beta update failed - Fixed (I think)

I tried to install the latest update to Daz Studio 4.22 public beta but something went wrong. At first there was no desktop icon, the program was in program files but wouldn't start and Install Manager showed it as installed with a size of -1 bytes. I tried to de-install it but it just stalled with a progress bar stuck on 0%.

I tried removing the .zip and .dsx files from Install Manager's downloads directory, then restarting Install Manager. It came up as downoadable but when I tried to download and install it the installer started and stopped immediatly. Now Install Manager isn't showing it as installed, downloadable or updateable.

Is there any way to clear whatever Install Manager thinks the current state of this item is and make it do a clean install?

In addition to removing the download (and clearing the cache, just in case), check in the "ManifestFiles" folder (should be next to the downloads folder) if there's a file for the beta, the manifest files are what tells DIM what was installed and when.

If there's one, I would try removing it so that DIM "forgets" it has installed it.

What AV and/or Malware are you running?

The reason tthe installer was failing was simple, Daz Studio was still running in the background. This is crazy. I started it up, it said there was a newer version so I stopped it immediatley, over half an hour later it's still running! What was it doing?

The installer didn't create a desktop icon or an entry in the start menu but I started it up from file explorer. The version I've got is 4.22.1.74, is this the latest version?

4.22.1.74 is indeed the latest beta version, released last week.
