We always see these threads with "What character is this?" but never our favourites... what is your favorite G8F character to work with and why?

Can't decide between the three figures I use as the main characters in my two long-running comics: Latonya (I'm sure no one needs a link for her), Colm Jackson's Aiisha [ https://www.daz3d.com/aiisha-hd-for-genesis-8-female ], and Mousso's Marion [ https://www.daz3d.com/marion-hd-for-genesis-81-female ].
Not going to put the attachments into my post because it'd take up too much space, but here's an appearance of each of them from recent issues. I don't use any of them as they are "out of the box," they each have some modifications, but their source figures are clearly recognizable.
EDIT: I picked images which had decent closeups from several issues and it is entirely coincidence that in the two I picked, Ruby (Latonya) and Jex (Marion) are wearing the same shirt!
Zelara 8 for her skin as a hands down favourite, which looks great regardless of the underlying morph. Millawa 8 as a character, but the shading at her nostrils forces me to use at least 40% of her morph with her skin or the shading shows. Kala 8 as a character because she renders like a photograph out the box, but she's a bit too masculine with 100% of her morph, and I've found it difficult to retain the photorealism after altering her skin or morph.
All the characters I work with are custom, I mean, that is kind of the point of being creative and it makes your work more unique. My fav GF8 skin is a custom version of this one https://www.daz3d.com/mother-and-daughters-hd-for-genesis-8-female I even converted it to the G9 UVs and use it on G9 now.
Since I change almost all characters as soon as I get my hands on them, I can only talk about the few that I like so much that I would never alter them. Alawa 8 https://www.daz3d.com/alawa-8 is the most important of these. Apart from the - in my opinion - completely inappropriate bundles, everything is just right here.
Difficult to say, because while I own quite a few charcteras I essentially do not use them. Or at least do not use them as intended. The characters I render are dial spun and have at best a few percent of some store characters dialled in. My forum avatar has something like 12 % Aurore and that's it.
But I like some characters for their materials. This would make Kayleyss' Michelle my favorite character, as her materials are my favorite base for being edited with V3Digitimes Wet and Tanned Skins. And an abundance of layers.
Most of my characters are the result of dial spinning and my own morphs, but one female character does stand out; https://www.daz3d.com/mabel-8
Ollie 8. No question.
Admittedly with a bit of dial spinning to give him more of a chin.
ETA: Oops. Misread the thread title.
Female character... Probably either Alexandra 8 or Mabel 8 if one goes by how often they get used.
Custom for me by TritiumCG. Think they did a stunning job.
Regards,
Richard
Rendering almost daily with her since december 2020

...one of mine as well
Difficult to actually choose as G8 had some really nice and "unique" characters compared to older gernations. If I have to pick the best from these it's Amilia, Mrs Chow, Nida, Sara, and Zuri
(Edit: oops, just noticed the title was favorite G8F character. Oh well, I stand by my post anyway)
The first one that had me nodding my head when I used it was Tyrone for Darius 8. https://www.daz3d.com/tyrone-for-darius-8
Mousso's Vernon HD also became a staple at some point. https://www.daz3d.com/tyrone-for-darius-8
Phx Ohanzi, I like the actor he's modeled after, great sense of humor, and cheeks like that are tough to pull off, the maddest of kudos. https://www.daz3d.com/phx-ohanzi-for-genesis-8-male
But I'd have to say one of my absolute favorites is M3D Matt, something about him just hits right, even if there's no skin without injury. https://www.daz3d.com/m3d-matt-for-genesis-81-male
My own self made character, of course.
If I had to pick one from the DAZ store, I'd always go exclusivley for ISourceTexture G8F characters, because of their skin shaders and shapings.
I'm going to nod my head at that. You created a gem.
Probably bluejaunte's Amira. (https://www.daz3d.com/amira-hd--expressions-hd-for-genesis-8-female) and I'm guessing I'm not alone with the number of promo shots she appears in.
But a close second would be mousso's Maureen (https://www.daz3d.com/mso-maureen-hd-for-genesis-81-female).
Nylyssa https://www.daz3d.com/nylyssa-for-genesis-3-and-8-female & Millawa https://www.daz3d.com/millawa-8 are my top 2 favorites, and I use them slightly altered for a couple of recurring characters. In fact, I started using Nylyssa with G3 before I got more into G8. I believe she allows for heterochromic eyes.
Other favorites are Topsy https://www.daz3d.com/topsy-8 and Battleworn Female Bot https://www.daz3d.com/battleworn-female-bot--genesis-3-and-8-female-texture-set. In spite of the non-hairy feet, Topsy makes a great Halfling. So far, I haven't used the Bot as a full character but several times I've used the eyes and the Bodysuit for SF or cyberpunk characters. (I think the bodysuit is part of the skin texture but there are presets for applying Bodysuit Only.)
I thought about it for a bit and looked through my runtime. Of course I like some characters a little more than others, and I use some more often than others because they mix particularly well; but I really don't think I have one single favourite G8F character. But I will always have a weak spot for Ai by Mousso. I had started DAZ a short while before she was released, and she was the first character that truly took my breath away.
Gaffes aside from my earlier post, the one PA who makes me break out my wallet upon each new release is Davey Abbo. Cyberpunk and robotics done well is right where to get me, and his figures come with so many great ways to amp up the creativity, especially if you have interal anatomy sets (in this case, CyBody by DW, bought elsewhere).
Good choice.
Mousso makes characters I love. In fact, in stories, that is perversely often the problem ... I have Mousso figures where I'm like, "no, this is too good a figure to use for a walk-on part, she's got to wait until the next time I add a significant chararacter."
For DAZ Originals, Olympia 8. I regularly used her body at 100% and her face morph was always varying percentages.
For PA, it's a tie between Kayleyss' Aurore and Vicey3D's Nikita. Aurore's package came with 3 different skins (not just shader colored), piercings, and brows. Nikita mostly because she's the first "PBR" skin character I owned. And PBR rendered more quickly than Uber Iray for me. So I used Nikita's shaders on other characters.
Thank you everyone responding, I look at all suggestions even of boys! Many are very beautiful and I will try.
To anyone may care, currently is not good time where I live and I can not always get internet. I am sorry I may disappoint because this.
Like others here, I sculpt my own characters. I render mostly children and cute fluffy animals, so I tend to purchase ready made characters for their skins.
I sculpt using a combination of the base head and body morphs, 200 Plus and the Growing Up Youth Morphs. I've also experimented with the Body Shapes: Children morphs by JWolf, since that doesn't seem to mess up hair the way Growing up does. But switching a sculpted character from Growing up to Children morphs takes a lot of work around the face and head.
Anyway, to the point of the thread: I like all the characters by Angel Wings. To me her characters' skins are the most appropriate for my renders. Her characters are also among the very few I have occasionally rendered 'out of the box'.
Yet another person who prefers to spin their own, though I do have a huge catalog of commercial figures that I use as resources. With that in mind, I have to say that I'm quite partial to the skins from products from iSourceTextures while BlueJaunte has, by far, the best smile morphs in the industry, but the products I use on almost every single character are Zev0's Aging and Growing Up sets.
I think the figures I like are not necessarily the figures other people will like. I spin dials and I use some out of the box. I like a lot of figures, though some are a bit disappointing once I start using them. Since I have no favorite, I'll admit I just picked up https://www.daz3d.com/lavonne-hd-for-genesis-8-female and I think she is one of the most gorgeous figures I've ever seen. And I already have a lot of figures. A lot. I already loaded her up and I can't wait to start rendering her. Not disappointed!
