How to install a plugin into DAZ that is on an external hard drive

I just bought figure converter for G9.  I have DAZ on two external hard drives because one wasn't big enough.  My current brand new laptop isn't big enough to hold all the content I have bought over the years.  I have no idea how to get it installed using DIM.  Frankly, I don't like using DIM.  I prefered the old way with an actuall installer or manually copying the files and pasting them into DAZ like I always do with other content.  Can someone please help.

You can install content wherever you want, but plugins should be installed wherever the program is. In my experience, that also means they need to be downloaded to that drive, but that might be more to do with me keeping my content on a NAS.

Is it a literal plugin, or a script?  A script can be installed into any content folder like regular content, but a true plugin has to be installed to the plugins folder in the application.  If you look at the folder structure inside the zip, items from the Daz3D store will have a top-level folder named "Content" (in which case the files and folders underneath "Content" go underneath your actual content folder (e.g. "My Daz 3D Library"), or a folder named something like "4.x : 64-bit " (in which case the files and folders underneath it go underneath the Daz Studio application folder).  Some products have both.

According to the product discription it says its a plugin.  I used DIM, and couldn't find it in DAZ, it wasn't listed under "about installed plugins" under Help.   After I posted here yesterday, I looked for it in DAZ once more and then noticed that it creates a new option at the top right next to help.
