Shopping Cart: How do you prevent use of tokens?

The subject line says it all. If I have some items in my cart and the tokens button says “applied,” how do I “unapply” the tokens to save them for later? Clicking the button once it reads “applied” does not seem to do anything.

Press the minus button until it reads zero, then apply.
