Daz Studio 4.8 Pro required files

Have a question, bear with me. As a result of certain events have decided that DAZ Studio  4.8 Pro will

be my last DAZ for a very long time.

The merits of one versus the other will no doubt be a subject of other threads.

As newer versions pop it is impossible to obtain older versions.

So the version I have now will be in cement and the installation files saved

My question is simple.

Starting out with a brand new version of DAZ Studio 4.8.Pro, what files are needed to complete the program.

Saw recently that newer versions of Michael 7 need update file to run.

So if I want a complete version, what files would I need, starting from scratch? I probably have them but wish to

make sure before they are gone

Thank  you

  • Hi, I did the same thing! Just backup your installer files from DIM Installer folder and back them up. Everything should be there. I don't erase when I install.

For a long-term storage I'd suggest going with the installers as well as the zips. In any case, go to your product library and filter on studio 4.8 pro - and grab everything there AND all the other items that are called out as being part of the bundle. (by 'everything' I mean the executable installers for your platform - and if there are no bandwidth issues, grab the zips for studio as well)

And do it soon! Once 4.9 goes live you won't be able to get 4.8 this way - and that could be as early as sometime this week.

Scroll down and download everything that is part of this bundle ... and SAVE (yes, I did)

Since winter is coming and it will be long and cold, a big (no, huge) thank you for the information.

    Thank you all.

One side note. Will not go into the nightmare that was Studio 4.9, that was written by me in another thread.

    But.

Have never been a fan of DIM do not use it except when I absolutely have to.

Had to do for Studio 4.9.  After the disaster, wanted to wipe all traces of 9 from my computer.

Had forgotten but  found the DAZ Manger folder. ( In Windows it is located in Public area).

There were over 2gbs of basicaly worthless or duplicate files that could be removed from the

    hard drive and stored elsewhere.

    Will repeat 2gbs.

If not for space, remember, these files are looked at for every scan you do.

    Thank you all again

    Only 2 GB?

You must have pretty much only had the Starter Essential packs in there...

But that is your downloaded content packages.  Not everyone wants to keep them, but a lot of people do.  And you can set DIM to delete those, once it has installed them.   And you can also set that location to be anywhere you want...
