Pose panel is blank

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Installed 4.8 on a new comp, and when I go to the 'pose' panel, it is blank. No image at all. Load, render, etc. all show my figure, but not the 'pose' panel.

I'm pretty sure its P.E.B.K.A.C. (problem exists between keyboard and chair), but for the life of me, I can't figure it out.

Suggestions?

    By Pose panel do you mean the Pose tab along the top of the interface, which gives a new arranegment of panes when you go to it? If so, is the viewport simply missing - no grid, no camera controls or cube? That would indicate thge the Viewport pane was closed or that you have another pane in the same group in front of it (but then you woudl probably comment on that) - Window>Panes(Tabs)>Viewport should reopen it, then drag by the top edge up to the top of thee mpty area and you should see a horizontal line of the highlight colour, at which point let go to dock the pane. If it won't dock, make sure that Window>Workspace>Lock Docking/Undocking isn't checked.
