That's me, too. I see a lightning deal or coupon/flash/wishlist sale and, if I have a few extra dollars at the time, I grab 1-3 things I really want. Like this week I picked up Predatron's https://www.daz3d.com/lorez-horse-2 and https://www.daz3d.com/dld-floating-candle-kit for <$10 to see how the Lo-rez Horse 2 (which comes with a higher-resolution option) compares with Daz Horse 2 and then Drutherson 8 with the $3.99 coupon code. I was glad the Candle set was something I can see myself using or I would have passed on buying (again). Most of the other Key and Mad items so far are things I won't use &/or G9 only so no buying those days.

I try to stick to my wishlist, too, unless there is a really good item I missed. If I like the current Daz+ Weekly/monthly freebie I put that in the cart too* and I am done.

(I don't have the budget to spend more than $20-30/month since I'm semi-retired and husband is retired and got denied additional disability.)

*if you're not a member you can get them free with just about any purchase

Haha! Great minds think alike enlightened Glad you also get the good deals! I think it's a smart way to shop. I have a similar budget, too.

Way I see it, you can get very good deals, but you have to have a broad wishlist and also buy quite a lot, in terms of item count as well as actual end price. I have almost 200 pages in my library now, I don't really need that much more. So I try to get the things that actually appeal to me for a good price, without too much bycatch. That is the kind of shopping though that the store actively discourages, so it's harder to do.

For me, it's not so much about the percentage of discount I get, it's about whether I really want that item, and whether I can get it for an okay price overall. If tons of stuff are down to 92% or whatev and they don't interest me, than that's that. And I do pity the PAs as well, seeing their hard work sold for pennies, basically. I'd much, much rather have lower and reliable base-line prices than prices that are very high and then come down very low in crazy sales events. But well. It's still very much possible to build yourself a great asset library quickly and cheaply in terms of per-item-cost. I just don't need to do that anymore.

Mostly only do and daz+ go that low or lower, and usually it's older stuff.

That is how it is usually, but one can get non-DO:s sometimes at good discounts in Grab Bags if they don't have "Discount does not stack with other offers"

March sadness ensues. I have a big credit from Februay sitting still, waiting . . .  and have yet to use it. Editorials are a fly-by for me, and because we cannot legally sell fan art, this sale so far has been a huge pass for me.

It is at the halfway mark and unlike other years I still have a huge 3 digit store credit . . . waiting . . . sitting . . . but do so far my March purchases are forgettable at a record breaking low of $7.89 for the month of March. Waves to the marketing staff . . . got credits . . . hoping to spend them.

So pot of gold only works for PC+ members ?

Plus it says PC+ items excluded but there are some in the pot of gold "shop now" selection ?

"Shop now" isn't really a selection but just a link to Daz Originals-only list from the store. Which means it has some inelligible items in it too (new releases and Daz+ items as they're DOs too). You could as well pick the Daz Originals "artist" on the main store page.

There is nothing in the rules indicating that it's PC+ (Daz+) only. The only requirements are: 1 new or still new release in your cart and use a coupon code. And the exlusion for the items you can get: not new releases and not Daz+ items.

The easiest way to check if it works when you aren't Daz+ member is to just put a new release in your cart, put a non-new and non-plus DO in your cart and use the code. If it works, then you can clear your cart and start building the one you want. The coupon won't be used up until you check out.

A lot of life things have come up the past couple weeks and I haven't been able to buy anything really, but I couldn't pass up today's deal. Got the DSLR camera I've been needing to get for a film as well as a number of other things on my wishlist that I know I can use. Much appreciated!

    Lovely offer!

I got one new item (as required), one Grab Bag item and exactly $50 of free DOs (5 of them Gen9 and nothing older than some 2022 environment props) - most of them I had added to my wishlist in December hoping they would turn up as an Advent Calendar freebie - well, better late than never!

My cart was $10.19 for $330.71 list price or 96.9% off and I had zero tokens. That's pretty nice.

I for one hope there isn't a massive sale of goods I want until the 15th because that's my payday. That being said I'm not even sure what I want to buy. I mean I usually end up buying discount stuff (mostly from my wishlist) but at the same time I have come to realize that most of that discount stuff is really not something I use as it is somewhat lower quality (sometimes much lower!) than the products I *really* want.

    [snip]

Eh, I'm getting off tangent here.

Perhaps you should focus on the products you really, really want. That would be a sensible and disciplined approach. What you're saying about quality also makes sense. If you're talking about clothing, perhaps https://www.daz3d.com/mmx-genesis-9-clones-for-all will let you do what you want without using G9.

What is this "discipline" thing you are talking about? I mean it almost looks like an English word but I do not understand it... but I'm very frugal in my spending if that's what you mean, and my 147 page Daz product library agrees with this.

(looks at own store product page count that just edged over into the 1084th page)  For some of us, a 147 page count sounds extremely disciplined and selective.... though not as much fun. :)

Disciplined and Selective are both good traits, been here since 2008,  and the library page count is 161.

The next time someone tells me I am a spendthrift, I shall inform them that First Bastion says I am selective and disciplined (here since 2007 with 167 pages) ;)

BTW @FirstBastion I have collected almost all of your catalogue-love your work!  I guess I can say I AM a spendthrift..lol! cheeky    I don't drink.. but I guess I am a daz-aholic.blush I do track the things I really really want--The other day I just picked a theme based on a discounted related item.. then I purchased Winter and snowy items that have been in my wishlist for years..  I have spent more this year than in a lot of years for March Madness.. March is also my BDay so I suppose I use that as an excuse.. I think I'm up to page count 200.

Happy Birthday month,  and thank you for the support. And I totally respect selective and disciplined decision making.

This Easter weekend sale has been/is fantastic! I took advantage of it it yesterday. Probably the best this month. Extremely+++ generous, so thank you DAZ. I only had 1 egg yesterday morning. When John 9 Bundle was released, I carted it but missed the deadline due to excessive multi-tasking. On Friday, I groaned when I saw the John Bundle  and my total cart price of 69.00 (multiple items) jump up in price. So I dumped the cart. Saturday I was astounded to see the 'gift' (expecting someting like last year). A bigger shock was the fact DAZ was offering those of us, who only had less than 5 eggs, a new opportunity to buy them. I only owned the first egg.  I hesitated briefly because there was one or two I did not want/need, but a quick calculation made me feel insane not to dive in and cart all missing eggs. Here is what I did that worked for me and maybe it will help anyone, sitting on the fence, make a choice that's right for you:.

I bought the 4 eggs I did not own. I did not apply tokens knowing I would need them for my next cart, a cart very similar to the one I dumped. I did use the DAZ+ coupon for 6.00 credit which lowerd the price to 13 dollars+ for me. After checking out I went back and bought John Bundle and two add-ons for 0.00. But because I had 8 tokens that were expiring I used them added 13 other items to the cart. $498.61 of product for $23.87 by using the Easter coupon and 8 tokens. For the 2nd purchase, I carted a new PA release to further discount the cart which consisted of 6 DAZ Original newer releases, in the 9k-up higher range. The other 7 were PA products (including 1 still new). I found by carting a new item, the cart decreased enough, making the item almost a wash, so,  I considered it a freebee lol. I found it easiest and less time consuming to check my wishlist and threw stuff in and out until the item price worked for me. And I ended up with extra tokens good for several days to come!

Good luck, have a blessed day, and Happy Easter everyone!

Edit : In hindsight, had I waited, and thought about it a little longer, I could have done even better. I could have made three purchases versus two.

    1. Buy the eggs using the DAZ+ coupon.
    2. Buy a gift card using the Easter coupon.
    3. Buy the products using the tokens and the extra 'credit/discounted value' from the giftcard, and still have the full amount of the gift card as a store credit. Basically my cart price would have been free. But I'm a happy camper none the less.laugh

The $40 of Daz originals is a great offer, especially as it works on new releases. I bought a lot of things I like the look of but didn't want to spend the money to get them. And there was one thing I almost missed. I used my usual method of adding things to the cart and stopping when they stop being free. Next I applied my tokens, was about the check out when I saw they were free again. The store was applying the $40 to the price after applying the tokens! So it was back to the store and even more goodies into the cart. Thanks, Daz!

...well almost time to close the book on this one for another year.

I have to admit it was far better than I expected as it sort of felt like a combo of MM and the Daz+ sale rolled into one.

I came into it not really knowing what to expect. Less sci-fi, maybe, but c'est la vie. Lots of people love that sort of thing, and I'm happy for them that they can get their nerd on.

The St. Pat's freebies was an incredible haul. The D+ week gave me a chance to get a lot of stuff off my wishlist for cheap with my $6 off $18 coupon, and then I turned around and used the tokens to beef up my $6 DO freebie coupon.  I spent the rest of the month learning how to render the stuff I got. Didn't turn out to be a huge spender month for me, but overall, I feel good about what I scored and for what price, so no complaints.
