Iray render vs 3d Delight

As simply as I can if I render a figure in 3d delight as a tif and do not make a background, it is transparent. I can composite my own
Now IRay renders.
In Environment you can deselect Draw Dome and in Environment setting put none.
But render still has a "fill color.
In Iray how can I do a render that has no background at all or, failing that, an alpha channel that I may
use for a selection.

Are you using PNG?
That works for me with either renderer.
Do you have Draw Ground off as well as Draw Dome?
Found it! Stupid mistake my part.
In Environment Pane two drop down boxes to check off, missed one.
