Genesis 2 Figure not holding shape (Now solved thankyou)

Hi, can someone explain what is going on in this clip? The model isnt holding the shape I want. When I click to pose the model "shrinks" to the shape I desire it to be, but when I let go it snaps back to a less defined shape. I dont have and smoothing modifiers on or anything. Please see attached pics, a video clip would explain it better, but we arent allowed to upload here???

    Thanks Glenn.

  • That's not smoothing modifiers, that's the subdivision. It turns off when you change the figure pose, bringing it back to base resolution, then turns back on to whatever you've set in the General>Mesh Resolution parameters section when you let go the pose control. Remember all Genesis figures are built with fairly low resolution, and depend on subdivision for the fine details of the shape. This includes morphs; normally the subdiv parameter has a limit of 2, but HD morphs go up to 3 or even higher.

My character is on base resolution with 0 subdivision. Its the first thing I do when starting a new scene. Looks exactly the same whether subdivision on or not.

If you are not using subdivision, it could be the "skin binding". The settings to fix this are in the Draw Settings pane (assuming you are using DAZ Studio 4.8 or later). Change SubDivision DrawStyle to Persistent (On) and Manipulation Binding to Full. See if that fixes it for you.

Hey, thanks, but I don't drink alcohol. angel I'm just glad to hear that it worked for you. Pass the info on the next time you hear someone complaining about this problem.
