Problem with item pages - freeze when clicking on images or Add to Cart

I have tried about a dozen pages and each time I click on either the large image or the smaller images the whole page freezes and I can't do anything else with it. 
Also, if I click Add to Cart, the purple bar just fills over and over and the page is frozen.  If I close the page, the item is in my cart. 
I have rebooted my computer and I still have the same problems.
