Can Iray Decals use Displacement?

I've attempted to have decals with displacement and aaaabsolutely nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing, or is it supposed to be nonfunctional?

Hey, I was just trying the same thing yesterday! I couldn't get it to work either.
Decals are unique scene elements and are inserted directly into the scene database, so they don't support all the features provided by MDL. The decal feature is really designed for fast and easy internationalization, like product labels in different languages. The label can be programmatically swapped for the render.
For technical details see here:

and note that it says displacements are specifically not supported..
That's what I figured. Well, guess I'll just replace that with 'man, I wish we had a projection shader for Iray'
Wow... decals, MDL, projection shaders... the glossary (or at least the terminology) is expanding by the minute!
This is probably a 'whole separate topic but are these guys (migenius.com) really putting rendering onto the server side for anyone to use? <BLINK>Huh?!</BLINK>
I haven't read the decals page yet but I clicked on the "glass..." page and it came up Error 404... hmmm, where there's smoke and no mirrors that means...???
Here's a better link...

And here's the main link...there is other documentation there.
