Clothes Conversion question

Yes, I am certain there is a discussion SOMEWHERE for this, but since I can't seem to find a way to search the forums (only the store) after over an hour of looking and just scanning for a title that looked promising... I give up and am just gonna ask - even a link in response would be appreciated!

4th Gen (V4.2) Clothes can be used on Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 females, but so far I cannot find ANYTHING saying that the autofit will work with Genesis 3 females/V7 (no, I don't claim to have read everything, but I read a lot!).  So... can V7 wear her sisters' hand-me-downs?  All or just certain ones? Is there a tutorial for us 'slow people'?

    http://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-female-s will let you go from V4 to G3F in a single step. You can also use the clones you already have to go from V4 to G2F, save the result as an asset (File>Save as>Support Assets>Figure/Prop Asset) then AutoFit that to G3F.

    Strange. The description on the product page for "Wear Them All" seems to indicate that Gen3 female cannot use Gen2 female clothing with this tool. Here is the description;

    "Wear Them All autofitting clones are created to smoothly fit any Genesis 2 Male, Genesis, Victoria 4 and Michael 4 conforming clothes to Genesis 3 Female(s)"

    No mention of Gen2 female.

    And no Gen2 female clone is listed.

    Is this a typo perhaps? Or maybe this utility is just not needed for converting from Gen2 to Gen3 female?

    and also a Genesis 3 Male clone, as long as you have updated since the release of G3M.

    True...but when Wear them All came out...there wasn't.

    Not unless 4.9.zip is reading files differently than previous editions. There is a G3M clone but not for auto-fit unless one makes it.

  • You should be able to AutoFit G3M to G3F and vice versa.

    Yes I know ... but honestly, the file for cloning for auto-fit was not in the folder. Downloaded what were supposed to be new files at least 3 or 4 times. Not there. There was a clone I could dial her to look like him but if you check the folders for the Male: in one of them there is a .dsf file for G2M and G3F. However in the same folder for Female: there is ONLY the .dsf file for G2M.

    Have 4.8 on this laptop and yes wherever they have the other type of file for a clone, that makes for an auto-fit ... but like I said, not in 4.6.

    You don't have the latest update - there should also be a CloneGenesis3Male.dsj and both should be dated 15th December 2015.

    The CloneGenesis3Male.dsf file is there, but it's in the \data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 3\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base folder, not the Clones folder.

    Yes that file exists, they put it in another type of clone folder and in 4.6 it will not jog auto-fit ... but apparently it must be in 4.9. I found that the clone was required in the folder displayed above. Once I made a clone for that spot [and remembered to call it a clone] it worked fine in 4.6 so I know this is where it is needed to be. I know I don't have the latest D/S update ... apparently PowerPose works better in the latest update too ... however from what I've been seeing posted, the bridge to Hexagon doesn't and so ends the updating procedures. I'm keeping Hexagon. A number of us are at 4.6, some at 4.7 and I think there's still somebody on 2.
