Smart Content Pane - Default category?

In the past, the Smart Content pane used to list all my categories up-front. Now everything is categorized under 'Default'. It'd be nice to not have to expand Default everytime I need to use Smart Content. Is there a way to reverse this?

This is because something has been added outside the default category. Look for the items that sit below/outside the Default categories and recategorise them.
