Needing realistic honey and strawberry syrup shaders

I would like realistic honey and strawberry syrup shaders. I have the honey shaders from iray slime but it's not very realistic it looks tiled. Honey is not tiled.

Mec4D PBS Shaders vol. 2 has some liquid shaders, and 41 Food Shaders is more recent and specifically focused on food.

Those are Poser materials, way before Iray.
Exactly.
I could too use honey shaders and all sort of honey and bee keeping props. I scrounged up some from Rendo and CGTrader but could use much more.
Not a perfect match, but the best I know: https://www.daz3d.com/41-food-shaders
How about the poser honey shapes I mentioned plus the iray honey shader from https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-pbs-shaders-vol-2-for-iray The cranberry juice shader with a little adjustment might double for strawberry syrup.
That puddle looks more like molten metal than honey.
it is the angle of the incidence of light causing too much refraction; it was a quick render so I didn't adjust the angle of the light since I was focused on the jug pouring. At a different angle, the pool looks like the honey in the jug.
That's not too encouraging. The best honey textures I managed to achieve late was by copy-pasting base color Selected Surfaces from the honey prop in STZ's Small Room 2 from Rendo.
I'm in desparate need for all honey and beekeeping props. I have the Market Stall, but I need variety.
Ah, i think you have your own solution there.
You create a primitive
You copy-paste the color slected surfaces from your Small Room 2 honey prop
You create a shader from that and save it as your Honey shader to apply to anything you want.
I am hoping you have this with its modern bee hives: https://www.daz3d.com/tangy-apple-orchard as well as https://www.daz3d.com/on-the-farm-orchard, https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/147612/natures-wonders-bee-swarms-nests, https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/147607/natures-wonders-beekeeping, and https://www.daz3d.com/market-stall-and-props which does have various honeys in various colors and all iray as well as strawberry. It would be a great resource to make your own shaders.
I have all the Orchards stuff, and waiting for some of the Rendo stuff to go on sale. I also have the Market Stall. All in all, it's still a meager offering. I have two different client's for whom I need to create honey-themed content, and they should not all look the same. And not just one piece each but a whole series each. I'll have to buy stuff at CGTrader and they're a hit and miss. An where are the honey combs and bear-shaped honey bottles?
Turbosquid has both honeycomb and bear-shaped honey bottles (I forgot about those.... I don't like honey very much): https://www.turbosquid.com/Search/Index.cfm?keyword=honey&media_typeid=2. I haven't opened hexagon or Carrara on my new computer but I will see if I can whip up one of each since they don't look like complex shapes.
If you have a surface setting you consider fine for honey, have you then trying to do minor adjustment to refraction color?
E.g.
Yeah, they do, the nice ones kinda pricey. I wish there was more native DAZ items.
Shouldn't be too difficult to come up with a clear honey shader from first principles.
For strawberry syrup, just use a red Glossy Color instead.
I attach an example and a shader preset.
Does market stalls include shaders I can use on other props etc or just materials for that particular asset? I like how the honey looks in the promos it looks like the style I need
I'm looking for easy (I'm not THAT experienced) NOT diy
I don't have that market stall product, but I expect they'll be material presets that only apply to that asset.
However, assuming the contents of the jar is a single surface (I'd be amazed if it wasn't), you could select it and save it as a shader preset to use elsewhere. Or just right-click, "Copy selected surface(s)" and then paste it to the surface you want it on.
No shaders. They look good in some settings, but they're a bit odd. They have emission.
What about the poser ones you guys mentioned earlier? Can they be used on anything and are they transparent similar to the pictures if I do. Mind you it doesn't have to be iray as it's getting exported to unreal engine and therefore it's not necessary for it to be specifically iray. I have other assets i import into unreal engine 5 that are fbx blender and cinema 4d so I don't see why the poser honey shaders wouldn't look terrible when exported into unreal engine
And can I work with them in Daz or only poser. I'm using dtu so it has to be in Daz. I don't even own poser. It's expensive
Those poser formatted honey shapes can be exported as simple obj's so that you can add the shader you want afterwards. The next thing you have to decide is how photorealistic you want the honey to be. As in my previous illustration, sometimes the high refractive index of honey causes too much reflection for an idealized "honey" which is transparent from every angle. I might use instead a gem amber shader (you can find tons in the store or roll your own amber glass shader). I thought I woulld show you these to give you some ideas: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oby1mw & https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=iHxNQE9n_Gw
Hopefully, you have seen this: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/544586/free-honey-shader-for-iray
You don't need to export them, DS can use basic poser props like that directly. You would need to load them from the "poser content" section of the content library tab once they're installed, as they won't have metadata for Smart Content.
And if one needs the OBJ files in some other program, the OBJ's for Poser items can be found in Runtime\Geometries\[some folder name]\
yes I just saw those. They work peachy for my needs. thanks pointing me in the direction of them. Now I just need a strawberry syrup shader
Apply the honey shader, find the channel(s) in the surface that are yellow/brown and change them to red.
i will try that
