Why can't I use auto-fit to fit G8 clothing to G2/G3?

On my computer, I have installed the base models for G2, G3, G8, and G9. However, when I try to use G8 clothing on G2/G3 models, I can only select G2/G2F (similarly for G3). Only on G9 can I properly select the G8 model.

Daz does only provide comptability so you can use older items on newer figures.

There are some product in the store that provide som comptability (read on each product what it supports).

Or you can create your own clones - I think there is a guide in the freebi section.

Doing so is better than autofit, as it preserves custom bones etc. Unfortunately it only works for those two generations - they're so similar that you can trick Daz into using content for one on the other.

Thanks for the response. I'd like to know how to convert back to G2 after converting to G3. I repeated the method mentioned above for G8 to G3, but the clothing didn't follow the character, or there was some lag.
