Is It Possible to Lock a Scene?

I have a scene with a dressed character that I use a lot. I'd like to have it function like a template, so if I change it, anytime I try to save it, I'll be prompted to save it under a new name (like a PowerPoint template file (.potx) does). Is it possible? If I can't do it within DS, if I make the scene file read-only via the OS, would DAZ still be able to work with it?

Save it out as a scene or scene subset ... when calling for it have it to "merge" in with whatever scene you are using and "save as" that new scene to a different name.

[one can also manually go to the folder and do "copy/paste" to make a back up copy]

  • Thanks! I'd rather have a template-like feature (because I'm likely to forget and open normally at some point), but if it doesn't exist, duplicating the file and using it to merge sounds like the best solution. I'll expirament with making the file read-only via the OS, too.

Presuming you're using Windows, right click the file, and select: properties, under attributes select read only.

(I have a start up file that loads on new or startup. I have a plane and a tiny light set to 0.0001 so camera lamps dont work. :) )
