I've read throught the FAQ for Daz Studio 4.9 beta. Am I correct in interpreting that I can install 4.9 beta on the same machine as 4.8 and not have my content or 4.8 interfered with in any way?

    Yes. The CMS database will be updated to include new fields used by 4.9, but that will not interfere with the data used in 4.8. Your content itself will not be changed. however.

    Thank you. I'd like to keep 4.8 untouched for Reality / LuxRender rendering and use 4.9 for Iray.

    Well, once 4.9 is out of beta it will be a repalcement for 4.8 - though I am not aware of any conflict with Reality (it would, however, at least need a separate isntallation to work with a beta)
