Is it normal for the visibility of shells reset when you use certain tools?

Hello!
When I choose certain tools such as the "geometry editor tool", and then go back to a more basic tool such as the "node selection tool", the visibility of the shells of all models in the scene "reset", in a way.
I need to manually make certain areas of the shells invisible again to avoid conflicts.
Is this the expected behavior of DAZ Studio, or am I making an amateur mistake?
Thank you.
Note: I'm sure this question has been asked before, but the forum search is kind of bad and I decided to ask it again, if you don't mind.
EDIT: damn... I posted in the wrong forum...

Yes, this is the way it works. I submitted a ticket about this in Feb. 2022, and customer service submitted a feature request to the dev team, for me, to preserve the visibility state when using these tools, in March 2022 with the usual "cannot guarantee that this will be implemented, watch the change log for updates."
Maybe submitting your own ticket will raise the priority...
Normal, yes, but I wouldn't call that desirable or intentional.
It seems to relate mostly to geografts and the like, where the settings for them aren't remembered once the geometry is restored.
A workaround rather than a solution, but https://www.daz3d.com/geoshell-visibility-presets
