    Try applying that shader again and then look at the end of the log file, are there any werrors or warning after it starts to load the preset?

    OK ...I basically did everything you guys told me to, including a complete uninstall, clearing my system, updating all drivers, and then reinstalling. One or all of them did the trick. I can now see and apply iray mats and shaders, and they render AS IRAY and not RSL anymore.

    Y'all are awesome :) And I didn't need to change my filing system ... whew!

    But now I'm confused as to which default resources are for iray and which for 3DL. Not all of them are labeled, but I rarely use those anyway.

    The content files in the second screensshot are shapes, so not render engine-specific.
