I keep crashing. I can work about an hour then it goes haywire.

Do you have The Heat plugin installed? That was causing DS to crash alot.
..when i use dForce, it crashes the display driver (requiring a full reboot to restore) even though I have 12 GB of VRAM.
If that is with anything then it sounds like a driver issue, with the OpenCL implementation - most dForce cloth and dForce hair that is simple or using curves is not usually that taxing on memory.
If you are overclocking your GPU, try returning it to normal or even underclock it. See if the problem disappears during this test.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about with overclocking then please just ignore my thought here.
@ dennisgray41 I had the same problem long time ago.
My advice to you.
If you have an Internal Hard drive in your computer is time to get and install a NVMe SSD into the Motherboard, this will make Windows running more faster.
Warning!, you must save everythiing you have on the HDD (Pictures, Videos, Documents, Freebies for Daz 3D and so on) Applications and Software can have a fresh install, so don't worry about that.
After that you have to "clean" (Erase your Hard Disk Drive) for this kind of task go to:
https://superuser.com/questions/1379263/how-to-convert-ssd-from-mbr-to-gpt-during-clean-install-of-winndows-7
Make sure you Print and save these instructions and have as a handy reference
These instructions are valid for Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11
You must do this for both the HDD and the NVMe SSD
Also visit Tom's Hardware, look for "How to Install Windows 11 Without a Microsoft Account" you can serch for Windows 10 instead as well.
I know these SSD are not cheap as the HDD counterparts, but is worth to do the upgrade if you can DIY, otherwise ask someone else to do it for you.
Also you can upgrade the memory, if you have 16GB go for either 32 or 64GB RAM.
You can get 64GB instead of 32GB RAM, it will make a difference, sure is more expensive, better off save money and buy later if you can!
Don't settle for less storage, go for 2TB or more, you can look at https://www.amazon.com
I wish you Good Luck!
I have an 8 GB GTX 1070 (factory overclocked) and 8 GB RAM (plus a huge swap file on an SSD, if more RAM is needed) and don't have any problems with dForce other than the usual occasional explosions. So probably not a VRAM problem.
...I have the latest (last) Nvidia diver that supports Win 7 and Daz 4.21.0.5. I have not updated to Daz 4.22 or I'd be back to rendering on the CPU. There have been no new Nvidia updates for Win7 available save for occasional security patches. I've been running with a Titan X (Maxwell) for several years which is compatible with the driver I am using and had little trouble until a few months ago.
I have an RTX 3060 12 GB but my BIOS is apparently too old (I'm on the latest update for that) to support it.
Usually when there was a conflict (like a mesh intersection) only the programme would crash, not the display driver. I haven't updated anything, or changed any settings since before this began happening. I also run sims in texture shaded (OpenGL) view.
...I am familiar with overclocking but I don't bother with that as I am not a into games. The Titan-X is a standard, not OC model.
I was having major crashing issues with 0.22 [Heat plugin not installed]
The .1.136 beta is much better. It acts a bit like a fresh install which might have had more to do with fixing the problem, rather than it being because of 0.22 specifically.
I am having an issue where Daz is lagging out when it comes to looking through the content library, and or changing sliders in the parameters tab and the like. And this is with a entirely new computer, the specs of which are in my signature. It has me really stumped as to why it is doing this.
"Entirely new computer"... Have you tamed the OS and told it, not to play with itself?
