I miss Mec4D!

What has happened! Daz now owns the Mec4D products, so we will not get more of them. She had such good shaders that I use often and the other products were amazing. It's a pity when all good things are lost.

    My understanding is that the loss of her father effected her so much that she stopped creating and withdrew from the community.

    As far as I know, she's helping HiveWire3d with their upcoming Dawn 2 and Dusk 2 (unless this is a different Mec4D). I think she's also working on a HiveWire3d elephant. She's been posting at the HiveWire3d forums.

    ...I have all of her Iray shader sets and they still get a lot of use.

    I miss her too. So knowledgeable and feisty. I use her shaders every time I use Daz Studio.

    Hivewire announced months ago that she will not be releasing her many supporting character and clothing products with/at the initial release of Dawn 2 and Dusk 2, (if indeed DD2 are ever released).

    I thought HiveWire was shutting up shop, I seem to recall the kerfuffle some yerars back in transferring their store (or parts thereof) to Rencerosity and/or Daz.

    She's back, and she posted Thursday in the thread for her creations for Dawn 2 and Dusk 2. No specific information, but it sounds like her products will be coming out after all.

    I think the bottleneck  was the rigging. Dawn 2 has been in the pipeline for a *long* time. Dusk 2 as well.

    They've not been released yet. They're still working on them.

    I was quite excited to get my hands on the characters and costumes Cath had created for Dusk/Dawn 2. They looked great and quite competitive visually. I don't know if the skin is on Genesis 9 level, but I'm mostly using G8.1 atm. Of course, it was a one-woman show, but she was really churning them out, at least as demos. If she's one hundred percent involved, then I'm still excited. If not, then I suspect DD2 will be as undersupported as their predecessors.

    Oh, she's all in, and it's on! Looking forward to this for over three years. Hopefully, they can share lights and camera with Genesis.
