Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female

Hello!
Forgive me cause I'm enetirely new. Because of such I make it a point to clarify before buying anything. I'm looking at the Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female. As it stands I'm only working with the base Gen 2 (have Gen 3 but not particularly excited atm) in Daz 4.8. If I'm understanding correctly, I can purchase this & using the Gen2, meld her into a V4 as I wish to use V4 stuff.
Hope I'm thinking correctly. V4 seems to be the one most things fit without hassle...
Thanx!

Victoria 4 for G2F will add 3 things to your G2F
It won't allow you to use morphs made for V4 on G2F, though. You need GenX to convert the morphs.
kk. thanx Leana!!
So to review. I have a couple of gen 2 females decked out in a story I'm running. This will allow me to fit clothes and textures to them for V4 correct?
Reason I'm caught is I'm debating just buying V4. But I'm already down the line with these 2 Gen 2's that I've poured hours into.
Can V4 wear Gen 2 stuff??
And by morphs we're talking changing body properties with sliders yes?
For that matter.. willll the Gen 2 slider still work once she's got the V4 default?
See why I'm confused?!? LOL
Yes, you will be able to use clothes and texture made for V4 to your G2F characters.
No, V4 was created years before Genesis 2 and uses very different technology.
Yes.
You just get a 'V4 shape' slider added to the list, it doesn't affect the other morphs. So yes, they'll still work.
One morph won't (usually) stop another working - a few might, for example the three figner morphs in the Creature Morphs lock the posing on the hidden fingers (OK, not morphs but the method is the same). One shape can, in most cases, be added to another without interference.
Thanx guys!! very helpful.
So now the critical last. should i buy the above mentioned or the 4.2 model?? It recently went on sale and is close to the V4 for Gen 2. I really like working with the Gen 2. seems more versatile outta the box than the Gen 3. Still, I know V4 is the Mod king....
If you don't have or are missing lots of V4 stuff - forget about it. There are lots of better models out there. You can use V4 skins you like with G2. To get the same functionality as G2 out of the box, V4 needs a lot of work; the same can be said for G3 too, more work to get the same basic effects.
All of em need extras though, so there isn't a nirvana.
Thanx all! This has really helped. think I know where I'm at & what I'm doing. much appreciated!!
Hi
I know this post is old. I am a (was a) poser user long ago (like 9 years). I am starting to try and get back into this..
Lots of differences. Not sure I will survive the battle. That being said. I used to keep up on some of the stuff and I did buy (back when G2 came out) V4 for G2F
I cannot find a shred of documentation on how it is supposed to work. No docs on the DAZ website (that I could find). No docs in the .zip file. I can't seem to find the figure in my DAZ Studio library.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
(trying to use 4.2 in Daz Studio 4.10)
The AutoFit clone is available in the list of Source Figures when you try to fit a piece of clothing (made for Victoria 4 or its pointless) to Genesis 2 Female.
The shape is available in the Shaping and Parameters panes - I can't recall which group it falls under but if you click on All in the Editor tab and then type Victoria in the filter box you should find it
The UV set appears in the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane when you have one or more surfaces selected, in the UV Set pop-up. If you apply the materials you want to Victoria 4 and then use File>Save As>Materials Preset the fiel should take care of the UV set when you apply it to Genesis 2 Female.
Thank you
I will give that a try and see what I can work out.
