I can't get DAZ to use my GPU

I have an NVIDIA Geforce 1650 Ti on my laptop. I want it to render by itself, but every time I try it, the renders fail. I'm at a loss as to what settings to fix it.

If the scene is using more than the 4GB of Vram that is on the card then it wont render on it.
Have you tried rendering just a primitive cube in an otherwise empty scene?
A non-RTX 4GB card can not render much more in Iray.
It's a non-RTX card with 8GB memory. I guess it doesn't make a difference?
The sources I found (including nVidia), are saying it has 4GB's of VRAM.
If it does have 8GB's, you have about 3GB's of VRAM for Iray rendering, still not much but you should be able to render simple scenes with 1 or maybe 2 G8 characters if you make sure the hair, clothing and props are not too heavy.

Yeah, the cube rendering was fine.
Oh, and I see what you mean. it's 8GB shared memory, not the GPU by itself. It's only 4GB.
Yeah, one of the many reasons Task Manager is not a good tool for monitoring. With Iray rendering, there is no such thing as 'shared memory'
When I was still using a 8GB card, I did some testing on what I could have in the scene and still render in Iray

That is with W7, which uses less VRAM than W10 and using an RTX card. A non-RTX card has about 1GB less VRAM available because it needs to emulate the RTX-features in software.
I have a 6GB 1660 Super which can't handle an unoptimised Genesis 9 - I would not expect to do anything much, even with optimisation, in 4GB.
