Back up the files.

I need to format my computer and I wonder if there is any way to back up all the assets/poses scenes character and so on to another hard drive and then just import them from there? I have over 100gb of stuff and I really dont want to install them all one by one again.I have heard  that you shouldn't manually move the files so I wonder can it be done and if so, how?

    Manually moving whole content directories is fine...as long as you keep the current structure.  You could copy the entire 'My Library' (or whatever your main content directory is) to another drive.  I can't remember, off the top of my head, exactly what would need to be moved...there's some other directories/files that should be kept, too.

    Okay because I did try that, moving the entire directory file but when I tried to accsess it on my other hard drave almost everything dissapeared

    When I tried to look inside it it just said that the file was corrupted and then removed 90% of what was inside it. I still have everything on my c drive but that's the one being formatted

    What file was corrupted?  Are you talking about the CMS database or the content files?
