desktop and workstation videocards

is the only thing that the work station videocards do is  compute faster? i some what understand how they are diff but i dont see how you can justify the money for very little speeds ect

There are other differences...and in applications that are 'designed' to use them, those differences are noticeable.  Studio is not one of the applications that greatly benefits from a workstation class card (think things 3DSMax and other high end programs).
