  • So i grabbed this today and was eager to test, in the promos it is shown that the bangs can be hidden and the script does hide them in texture shade, but in iray the bangs are still there. The omnihair shader doesn't seem to support opacity, but it's shown in the promos so there should be a way to make it work, right? Any ideas?

    Hello there!

It appears the material options for the bangs seems to be indeed set up improperly. I apologize for the inconvenience. Somehow my tester must have missed that.

The way you hide the bangs is you manually select both material zones ('Bangs' and 'BangsStrays') and set both "Line Start Width' as well as 'Line End Width' to 0.

Thank you for alerting me to this I will submit a fix for this product as soon as I can.

Thank you for the quick response, yes that did indeed work, cheers :D

  • Not me near spitting my drink out when I saw this in todays email XD I was obsessed with this hair as a teen. I'm still waiting for my sister to get back from work so I can show her!
Elis, famously the sister of Eduerd. If you happened to find the time to make a Yazper hair circa film 2-3 I have my piggy bank and hammer ready.

  • I seem to be missing the purportedly miraculous OmniHair Shaders, it certainly doesn't look anything special with the Daz default shaders it is loading with.

Have you missed an update to the Default Resources package? If yours is up-to-date, are you sure that there isn't an older version installed that is being loaded first (throught Daz vs through DIM, or in an old content directory that is checked before the current one)?

Thanx for your suggestion Richard. I downloaded & reinstalled Genesis 9 Starter essentials after encountering the problem but that didn't help (& when I looked in the zips manually there was no sign of ant shaders. If there is an errant older version (possibly from DazConnect ), I'm not sure how to locate it

When I load the hair I go through a missing file dialouge process which seems unusual but doesn't keep asking for missing files when I click ''Install''

I'm on Daz version 4.22.0.16 which I hope is current, any further suggestions would be apreciated.

    Adain , thanx

You need to install "default resources" not "genesis 9 essentials"

  • Thankyou chevybabe25 (& Richard H) that worked perfectly, Elis Hair now looks much more realistic & I am un-frustrated.

The hair looks great, but is it a dforce hair? There's the generic dforce video in the description but there's no mention of simulations anywhere else.

It lists "dForce Hair" as compatible software so it should be.

The technology used to create the hair is dforce hair technology but the hair does not drape.

O - M - G, my brain is such a soggy toast. After literal DAYS of pondering your post, I finally got what you were referring to - and remembered where I know the hair from ...blush
