Clothe Rigging & Fitting

HI. I am quite new to Daz, and I am trying some tutorials about creating cloths and I face a problem when I try to fit the cloth to Genesis 3 model. I try to fit some pants i have made (.obj) with the Transfer Utility tool that the tutorials use , but when the pants are fitted to the figure they don’t fit well. The shape gets distorted. Am I missing something? a setting somewhere?

Did you model them to the base figure? G3F with no morphs dialed in?

Yes. I created the pants in an external sculpting software, I import the Genesis 3 and gave them the right shape + UV and saved as .obj. Then I imported them to Daz, load the Genesis 3 figure and run the Transfer Utility tool as recomended in the tutorials.

Typically, when the rigging goes off like that, it is because the base shape was not used either to model to or to fit to (mostly model to).  But there are some other things can cause problems, too...like moving the imported item, before fitting it, rotating it, etc.

If you load G3F, in Studio and then import the clothing, does it line up, perfectly before fitting it?

Yes. It's like the first picture i posted. Also after the rigging, if i dont fit it to the model, the shape is ok. It gets messed up only when it is fitted to a model. I also tried with another pair of genesis 3 pants ( Export as obj through daz, then import the .obj) and its doing almost the same thing. I tried with daz 4.8 and 4.9 beta

Edit: I tried it with genesis 2 and works fine, so I guess there is something wrong with my genesis 3 figure.
