Keyframe setup time and dforce

I am wondering if its just me but setting a single keyframe in the timeline seems to be taking tens of minutes.

As I'm using mainly Genesis 8 character & clothes and that most now are using dforce.

Is the dforce somehow increasing the keyframe setup time?

Even with just one character (default g8f) and only one item of clothing it is taking tens of minutes for the keyframe to finish.

The actual simulation run takes less time than setting a single keyframe.

Cant see anything in the logs.

2 x zeon 32G ram

1 x 3060 12G vram

Genesis 8 basic female

Winter Trench Coat G8

Is there something I can do to reduce this wait time for the keyframes?

Thanks

dForce cloth itself doesn't do anything when not simulatiing (strand based hair does potentially have to generate the interpolated ahirs, depending on settings). If you have already run a play-range simulation then each frame will have a record of the vertex positions for the simulated items, but that shouldn't inherently affect the time take to record a key (the data doesn't get updated for the new pose) - however, it will increase the system load by an amount dependent on the length of the play range and the mesh density of the simulated item(s).

Something is off but I cant figure what.

I tried a non dforce clothing item and the keyframe button took 1-2 mins to enter the keyframe.

The dforce items seem to take 10s of minutes to enter after clicking the keyframe button.

After waiting more than a quarter of an hour I had to choose to continoue to run/close program, so I closed it.

Checked log, no errors or issues.

Its been a while since I've done any of this but something is going on when I enter a keyframe with a dforce item.

    Okay closed and re-opended DS

Decided to test keyframing with just the Genesis 8 Femal character alone no clothes.

Same result as the non dforce clothing keyframing which was 1-2 minutes.

So far keyframe button takes this long

    Character alone 1-2 mins

Character and non-dforce clothing 1-2 mins

Character with dforce clothing gave up after a quarter of an hour

Okay, if I keyframe using only the character and load the dforce clothing after I have setup the keyframes it takes about a minute a keyframe.

This is not good but it is at least workable.

Oh well, looks like I'm wrong.

After putting the coat on the character I tried the timeline play and it has been stalled/crashed? for some time now.

I havnt even got to the simulation yet.

Okay I think I have found the culprit, its the Winter Coat

I loaded some other dforce clothing on and yes its suddenly not throwing up when I keyframe.

If anyone else has this item, are you running into the same issue when using the timeline?
