Copyright question when using models in artwork

edited July 16 in Art Studio

So I bought this frog man creature thing and I want to use it as reference for a fantasy art painting. I might do some sculpting or altering of the model and at some point might try painting my own texture in Blender but what about copyright do I have to buy a license in order to use this in my art?

With extremely few exceptions, products sold in the Daz store (that don't have an Editorial License, which was only added recently) can be used freely in rendered art and animation. You can't redistribute them, even if you've modified them, but anything you do with them in a 2-dimensional capacity (as opposed to a game that allows users to extract 3D information, which requires an Interactive License) is fine.

Moved to Art Studio as it is a licensing question, not a Daz Studio application question.

  • Cool, I thought so. Yeah, I don't redistribute the figures. Thank You.
