I wouldn't be rendering on the mac just using it to pose / scenery making. Was curious if someone had a estimate of how many hours it could handle.
My job sometimes has an hour or two a day of sitting around waiting so I was thinking of getting a used m1 mainly for battery life. My windows laptop might get 2 hours of use but is ~5-7lbs and is a chocky boi.
I don't have a wall outlet available.

I had Daz installed on my M1 Mac and noticed that posing and previewing animation was so much smoother in my viewport vs my 3080Ti laptop believe it or not. My M1 is the base chip with 16gb RAM, too. Something about the ARM chip that makes it efficient but I never got an answer about that when posing the question why my 3080TI laptop can't preview or pose figures (G8 only) vs my Mac. That being said I still prefer my laptop becasue of rendering and I think many of the plugins, morphs, scripts for some addons only work on X86 computers from my experience. THere were some interface bugs I remember having too, like areas whited out on panes, etc. This was two years ago when I last played around with it on my comp. If upgrade to M3 or M4 I may try it out again. I'm sure it's a good experience.
I have the MBP M1 and a new Windows 11 with a 4090 card. My data is stored on external hard drives, which if you are traveling, that might not be workable. But if you limit what you install or use small 4 - 5 GB Passport drives, you can travel easy with it. BUT, the MBP M1 doesn't just play nice all the time. Crashes can happen when you least want them. No rhyme or reason. (I bought it initially to handle my files on my old 2012 era iMac. It is limping along.) It is light enough I can carry it. I have a bad back that limits my weight lifting.
The Win 11 is not light and I also use external drives to store what I use. But, the interface is easier, except Windows likes to hijack files on the C: drive into the Cloud. Daz doesn't like playing with the Cloud. I don't like the Cloud either.
I have only one problem with plug-ins on the MBP and https://www.daz3d.com/iray-geolocator was fixed by uninstalling until a DAZ update was done. But recently that issue has recurred so I have uninstalled it again. Other than products designed only for Windows I have no problems using them.
As for battery use, the MBP doesn't constantly run down or recharge. It likes to save occasionally.
I also use a big mouse and keyboard, my hands and brain just can't connect with the built-in touch pad.
