Question for Desk/Wall Lamps and Large Halls.

I need some input from members, please. 

I started on another scene involving four Resident Evil Characters and the RPD Main Hall (made free by author) https://www.patreon.com/posts/74336261

 

I'm wondering how to light it with using what type lights for the wall and desk lights? Do I have to light each lamp and wall light (there's a crap tonne) or only what's visible to the camera once I set it into position?

Do I use Scene only or Dome and Scene? How do I make it dark through the windows if it's possible?

I think I need Spotlights for the characters but how many? I'll eventually get them in their poses.

    Is that your model or a game rip? If it's a game rip you need to remove the link and take the file down.

    There isn't set answer to that, it depends on the effect you want. You could probably give the light models emission - select their surfaces and in the editor tab of the Surfaces pane give them a non-black emission colour and adjust other settings (ideally to match the way the real lights would work, then make sure your camera settings are appropriate for the level of illumination). Beyond that, are you aiming for real or cinematic or painterly? What lights you add will depend on how much you want to "cheat" reality in pursuit of effect, and what effect you want. One thing you can try, if you want shadowy areas, is adding lights with negative luminosity values to darken areas that get too much light. You could also use lights (actual lights or emissive objects) behind the foreground figures to give them a slight halo, to help separate them from the background.
