PostgreSQL CMS connection

Hi technical help,
I moved from Daz 4.8 to Daz 4.9. I think my content library must using the Daz Connect service. But when i'm starting my Daz 4.9, a popup say : "A valid PostgreSQL CMS connection couldn't be established," etc.
After that, a new popup purpose to connecting to my Daz 3d account, using my email and my password, but don't recognize my password. So I have to work offline and I have no product on my smart content and content librairy panels.
Could you help me ?
Thanks.

What operating system and which security software are you using?
Did you install through the DIM? If you only installed the DazStudio 4.9 file then that may be the issue. I had that error, too. Then I went and found the PostgreSQL install file on DIM and installed that. Worked like a charm and I was able to log in.
Hope that helps!
Hi and hank you very much for responding quickly ! I'm using Windows 8.1 x64bits, without firewall. I hope you will be abble to help me ! Thank you so much.
Maybe it is like Pyckles said. Your installation misses the PostgreSQL. Open DIM and type into the search field "PostgreSQL" maybe you will see a PostgreSQL file for DAZ Studio 4.9. You have to install it.
Thank you so much ! In the DIM, I have 2 PostgreSQL, one for Windows x 64, one for a figure for g3f. The two PostgreSQL are installed but I can't use the Daz connect service... I have no idea about this problem and the way to resolve it.
I was having issues also but just resolved it. Have you migrated from another computer? It turns out that in Preferences:CMS Settings, the Cluster Directory was pointing to a CMS directory for my OLD user profile on my previous computer. Once I installed PostgreSQL to my CURRENT user profile and changed the directory in Preferences:CMS Settings, it worked perfectly :-) It is now updating metadata, which will definitely take a while after 4 years of using Daz Studio!
Thank you!!! I've just moved to a new computer. I had 2 PostgreSQL files installed, but reinstalling them fixed the issue.
Have you tried to uninstall the PostgreSQL and reinstall it? Sometimes a new installation will fix problems.
I'm having the same problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the PostgreSQL files without a problem. When I go to preferences it points to the following location under CMS settings : C:/Users/Cammy/AppData/roaming/DAZ 3D/cms
Is that correct or should it point to another location?
Also, does the port matter?
I'm using Windows 10 64 with Webroot Secure Anywhere for my antivirus / firewall.
Thanks - Cammy

I'm using Windows 7 64 with firewall off

Hi , my imac failed to boot after loading high siera , apple chat help managed to get it sorted by using back up files . everything works ok except i have the same issue with PostgreSQL "A valid PostgreSQL CMS connection could not be established " i am of the older generation and not very computer liturate and have exhausted all that i know . Please help .Thanks
Just downloaded Daz studio and installed it with some content through the DIM. Just ran Daz Studio 4.10 for the first time on windows 10, getting the same error
"RESOURCE ERROR: A valid POSTGRESQL connection could not be established."
None of my resources show up...
They should show in the Content Library, under Daz Studio>My Daz 3d Library if you used the default path.
Did you install a version of PostgreSQL? What security software are you using?

Today I experienced this very same issue on my long running DAZ 3D (4.11) installation on Windows 10 on my PC which I've been using for quite some time now. So nothing obvious was changed and I was surprised by this error. Then I remembered, that I saw this error before and that then I managed to get rid of it by invoking the task manager and killing all PostGres processes. But today no such processes were running. Then I tried the uninstall/reinstall thing of the PostGres software, but this didn't help too. So I searched the web and found a forum where some guy advised to change the port for PostGres in the cms settings of DAZ studio. Since this also didn't work, I searched further and found this thread. Here I read about the user profile problem. And then I remembered that after some Windows update several days ago, I found that my user profile was somehow renamed (from xxxx to xxxx.000). This lead to some minor problems with other software too and I then tried to reassign the path for the cms cluster to the new user profile. Et voila - it worked!
So, if you run into this problem after some Windows update, please check the name of your user profile (C:\users\...). If it has changed, go to the cms preferences in DAZ studio and change the path for the cms cluster accordingly.
Good luck!
