Resource error

Upon installation of 4.9 and first start we get, a valid PostgreSQL CMS could not be established ...etc.  Didn't have this issue with 4.6.

Objects from 4.6 do load.

  • 4.6 would have been using Valentina for the Content Management System, 4.9 no-lonmger uses that database engine to power the CMS (it was prone to corrupting the database, and also had to run as a service which people didn't like). Make sure you have PostgreSQL installed. If you do have it isntalled already, what security software are you using - ZoneAlarm is known to cause conflicts.

  • Ok how do you check if that is installed? I've no issue with any other downloads/installations due to security.

  • Did you install with DIM? If so type Postgresql in the filter box and look to see if there is an entry in the installed list - you may also see a Conversion Tool listed, which covnerts your Valentina database to PostgreSQL if possible, and there may be an additional PostgreSQL installer in one of the other tabs as you need, and can have, only one version installed at a time.

  • Yes, there's Postgresql CMS (win 64bit)  And, the Valentina Conversion CMS. Should I download the former?

Was this mentioned on the product's page? Why is this one aspect not included in the initial package/download? Just wondering. Thanks.

  • PostgreSQL is one of several packages that will be listed when you get DS. You need the Valentina to PostgreSQL conversion tool only if you have a Valentina database that you want to keep for custom categories - other metadata can simply be reimported. You need (and indeed can have) only one version of the PostgreSQL engine installed,

  • I'll download and install the former then. Is metadata necessary? This simply proves it's your work right? Thanks for the replies.

  • Metadata is the categorisation of the item - it is used in Smart Content, in several of the Content Library groups, and in some other tools (such as AutoFit).

  • That worked. Danke.

  • I have uninstalled and reinstalled PostgreSQL file, tried both versions... even unistalled Studio. All using the install manager. I find that i never have good results using the install manager, but to get the update for studio i had to use it. Here is the message...

  • I'm having the exact same problem. But I tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. YES, the correct programs are installed, yes they are running in Task Manager. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS. I can't load ANY of my figures. just the hair shows up for some reason.

I didn't think the new DAZ was going to be this much of a pain. and I can't use my content in older versions.

What security software are you running?

  • Avast. And I turn it off before running Daz. Even though my PC complains
