Install manager versus DAZ Connect

I've already installed Victoria 6 and loaded in Studio 4.8. I have now upgraded to 4.9 and installed the PostgresSQL CMS (and the conversion tool). Now stuff shows up in Smart Content and when I try to use V6, it downloads and installs again. How much double installation is going to be done as I make scenes?

    The default when you double-click on a product in Smart Content is to install it, but you should be able to use it without doing so if it was installed with DIM.  If the product files aren't showing from the DIM install, re-import metadata.

    How do I re-import metadata?

    From the Content Library or Smart Content options menu (rectangle wit horizontal lines in the upper corner) > Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata
