DAZ Install Manager - File size limitation?

I've been trying to download a few different content installers via DIM for installations.  Each of them is over 1.0 GB in size.  Every.  Single.  Time.  They fail to download.  My installer holding drive is a FAT32 drive, so I realize this MIGHT be a problem (though shouldn't be, if I understand correctly).  I even tried changing the download location to an NTFS-enabled drive, and still...fail.  I'm on a Windows 10, 64-bit machine.  Can anyone assist?

Thanks in advance.  I hate not being able to get content I PAID for...

I thought FAT32 limit was 2GB? Might be wrong as it's been a while since I used it.

DIM would support whatever filesize Daz offers as it would be daft for it not to and while I cannot sort by filesize in DIM I definitely have multiple downloads over 1GB. Click on the cog icon in the top-right and click on both the "Show Log" and "Show Helper Log" items - one of those should hopefully give you more info as to what is going wrong. Possible options off the top of my head are certificate issues, lack of HD space, anti-virus interferance, internet connection interuptions or ISP issues.

EDIT: Oh, I can sort by size in DIM - just not the way I was attempting. Anyway - I have downloaded a zip file of almost 3.8GB via DIM and so 1GB should be no problem.

If you can let us know what the log is saying we can get a better idea of whats happening. The format of the drive, shouldn't, in theory have anything to do with it.

  • ZIp, as I recall, can handle only 4GB of data - at least in the basic standard. That does sound like a connection issue of some kind, in whch case the log may be illuminating.

I downloaded a file today that was 2.2 GBs and it was fine, but I also made sure DIM was not working on anything else. But I have had files that were around 500MBs fail and leave a partial package if DIM is working on installing or downloading other packages. I have one computer with a wonky internet connection which likes to drop out when updates are running, either from Microsoft or DAZ. So I have taken to managing my downloads to limited sizes, time of day (early in morning if possible), or on files that fail repeatedly, I manually download the zip and drop into DIM to install.

In my exp. that should be connection issue... Sometimes even when downloading a package with zip file zize 200~500MB, the buttons turned into "Retry". After a while or a couple of clicking on the button, everything was fine..

Yes, unless the package on the server has changed in the meantime, you should be able to resume downloading from the point that DIM had reached - though there was a spell, some months or more back, when it was being very poor about that; however, it hasn't been a problem recently (as I recall this didn't coincide with version updates, so I assumed it was a problem server/account sid)0.
