Riversoft art's character converter G8 to G9 questions...

Am I missing something? Every time I try to convert a character and the option comes up to save the character  DS crashes to desktop, but when I load in the cgaracter is "saved" but when you load it the character looks like the animal when it was  digitally transferred in Galaxy Quest. What am I doing wrong?
