Gianni 7 and DS 4.9 Question

For Gianni 7, it says "Compatible Software: DAZ Studio 4.9." I haven't yet upgraded to 4.9. I'm using 4.8. Does this mean that Gianni 7 will not work in DS 4.8? Or, does it mean that it will work, but some things such as shaders will render better in DS 4.9. If Gianni 7 won't work in DS 4.8, I'm just curious as to why that is.

    That field always displays the latest version of DS available. I don't see why it wouldn't work in 4.8.

    It will work but for 4.9, improved skin materials are included I think.

    DAZ_Kevin  said they would provide materials for both 4.8 and 4.9 for their figures for some time, so since Gianni was just released he probably has both

    OK, thank you for moving it appropriately, Richard. I wasn't sure about where to place my question. Sorry if I goofed it. So, people think it probably will work in 4.8. Has anyone there at DAZ checked this out for sure? I'd hate to buy it and then find out that it wouldn't work in 4.8.
