Instances question

I created 8 instances. They appeared at certain locations. I moved each one where I wanted it. In texture shaded view, they appear where I want them. In Iray preview or in an Iray render, they appear where I want them, PLUS the original locations, so there are DOUBLE instances. Apparently there are HIDDEN instances that cannot be altered. WHY?? What is going on?

SOLVED: Closed DS, re-opened, extras gone. Apparently a residual draw error. Wierd.
