Why do Animation Presets only work for the first loaded character model in DAZ?

In DAZ Studio, I want to apply animations to two different characters. However, when I apply an animation to one character and then select another character to apply a different animation, the new animation still gets applied to the first character. How can I make sure the animations apply to each character individually without overriding the previous one?The animation file includes M4 and V4 animations (the file shows an "!" and the animation loads onto the character when you hover the mouse over it). However, whether it's the M4 or V4 animation, they only work on the first loaded character. When I load a second character and try to apply the animation to them, the first character still performs the new animation. How can I apply the animation file to different characters?

  • Are these pose presets with aniamtions, or AniBlocks for use via AniMate?

There are preset animations, meaning as soon as you hover the mouse over the animation file (usually marked with an "!"), the character starts moving.

    • The animation file is a two-character animation, but it only applies to the first loaded character. No matter the loading order, the second character cannot correctly load the animation. The preset animation file has a "!" mark and cannot be used with Animate 2.

    Those are AniBlocks then.

  • Merged threads.

  • I just tested and for me an aniblock will preview on the selected figure, it may be that this set expects you to have some arrangement of one figure parented to another - have you checked any readme included with the product?

I haven't checked it yet. Could you please tell me exactly what I should do? I'm not very familiar with it, and I would greatly appreciate your help.
  • Well, I don't think this is a daz product so it will probably have some kind of text file in the zip, possibly in a folder named readme (or some variation) or documentation.
