  • Yes, this is precisely the sort of thing Install Manager (and DAZ Connectin 4.9) are meant to handle.

  • I thought that it was for daz purchised items only not items downloaded from places like rendercity ect ill have a look at the help centre

    thanks

  • Ah, I didn't realise it was third-party content.I think there have been attempts at such scripts, but they can have problems as there is a lot of variation in how the zips are structured.

  • I have a question. I am new to Daz as a whole process of artwork, and lost, am I. Ha, I recently down loaded Daz3d studio 4.9, and install manger. After a few days of looking around the program, I got brave and bought model number "8862 Laci love", and fallowed all the new user paths for the down load and installer paths.

She does not show up in (all/products) in smart content, nore does she show up in content lib. I went to (help) and fallowed the instructions, and reinstalled the download, reopened Daz 3d studio after that, found her, right clicked on her and redone the DM content, all/products, as I was told to do in (help).

Still no Laci, but, I do have the file on her in Daz3d studio, I found it. I went to "search" while in content lib, and there she is at the bottom. When I dubble click on her, or any of her 20 out of 20 items, nothing go's into scene. What do I have to do next, to open this model in studio?

How about a screen shot of your Content Directory paths. I've attached shots of what I mean. Then we can go from there.

Laci requires V4.  Do you own Victoria 4 as well?  If you look at the product page, it will show a 'compatible figures' line (a line that lists what a character may require to be used.)  Much like the "required products" line for expansion packs and texture packs.

A lot of 'characters' are simply morphs that are applied to another figure.  You have to own the base figure to use them.  Unlike Genesis, Genesis 2 Male/Female, and Genesis 3 Male/Female, Victoria 4 isn't 'included' with DAZ Studio.

As a beginner, you might want to stick to characters that are compatible with the included figures (Genesis, Genesis2M/F, Genesis3M/F) to start with, maybe even the ones that come with DAZ Studio or are available as Freebies, until you get the hang of how it works.
