Instances Plus and UltarScatter

What is the difference between Instances Plus and Ultrascatter?

Can instances be created with either one of them?

Is one of them easier to use than another?

Can they create instances like...animals?...cattle, in a field?  (If someone already has a Daz product that has cattle, I assume.)  -I was thinking of a ranch, for example.

I don't know if both of these products are required, or just one.

....of course there is also a product called: Instances To Objects.  (I believe I already have Ultrascatter and Instances To Objects.  Would that do the job?

I only have ultrascatter pro, but it looks like Instance plus can something similar. Although it looks like it focuses on aligning the objetcs in a pattern, whereas ultrascatter, target to place the objects with some randomness defined by the user. At least the advantage of that is that they might not look like they are copies of itself.

You have to understand an instance is identical to the original, although can be places, rotated and scaled individually.

So for your example with cows, if you just instanced 1 cow, it would be the same cow all over. Instead you could instance 5-6 different cows, or different poses, then it wouldn't be similar obvious that is was instanced.

The advantage of using instances, is the the object data only are transferred to Iray once (even if you have e.g. 1000 instances, and therefore much more VRAM economic.

The last product turns instance to objects, so you can modify them individually, but for the price of more VRAM, as each has to be send to Iray.

Just noticed your reply!  thank you!

Sorry, I think I missed a few others, too.

Sounds like this group may do the job, then, eh?
