Hello, I need Wedding Rings prpos to compliment a render of a married couple with a young boy.

Problem is, I need in Daz Format, so I can work with that.

I went to some places, but there are no Daz Studio equivalent.

I hope you can assist me with request, thanks!

The only one that I know of here is Genesis 2 Wedding Ring Set. Pre-Iray, but shader presets can deal with that.

    @richardandtracy shared one on Renderosity:

    https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/95985/wedding-ring-g3f-g3m-g8f-g8m-and-g9

If you want fancier free rings, they are a couple of them on Renderosity, just search for ring.

Another useful freebie if you're dealing with jewelry, the extensive and very nice 'Iray Jewelry Shaders' by AllenArt:

    https://sharecg.com/v/95893/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/Iray-Jewelry-Shaders

A useful tip that you may already know: press CTRL / CMD (depending on your OS) while you're applying a shader preset on a surface and a window will appear, letting you decide if you want to replace or ignore the images already used by the surface you want to change.

As long as the equivalents you found are available in OBJ, you can easily import them in Daz Studio, especially with non-rigged props like rings: the hardest part is finding at what scale they were sculpted, then it's just a matter of applying Daz shaders to get it look nice in Iray.

Speaking of equivalent, if you don't already know it, Daz is still capable of opening Poser files: not everything will work right and you'll have to change the material presets of each surface, but some are still nice.

  • Thanks for the tip Elor

I didn't know there was a way to apply a shader preset via keyboard shortcut

I will try that out next time I do a render.

I hope to get it right with the render, thanks for your assistance!

AlienArt also has a ring on ShareCG, not sure if it will work as a wedding ring, though https://sharecg.com/v/95896/related/21/DAZ-Studio/Bezel-Set-Ring-for-G3F-G8F

Moved to Product Suggestions as it is a request for, not an offer of, a freebie.

If you need a right hand wedding ring (Swedish traditional ring side), I have done one for G8F, but as my PC is dead at the moment it'll be a week or so before I can access it. Regards, Richard.

  • Richard Haseltine Sorry about this, I could not find a proper area where to post, next time if I need something I will go there.

richardandtracy Your freebie is the best thing I have downloaded, fit nicely on either Genesis 9 Female and Male "ring finger"

About your computer, take time, if it can be rescued, then you can still do more with that.

The computer I was provided has more than two years, everything works, except the memory modules that do not light up.

Also I have been wondering, your wife got too much strenght and was about to break your ring finger, when you got your younger daughter?!

Don't tell me she turned super strong on that day laugh

  • Thank you Elor, I have found what I needed.

    The https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/95985/wedding-ring-g3f-g3m-g8f-g8m-and-g9 works perfectly.

I found that I had uploaded the zip file with the RH rings to my website. It's at this address:

    http://www.chestnutpens.co.uk/downloads/Wedding%20Ring.zip

My website has a tiny bandwidth allowance, which is why I usually use Renderosity for the download files.

As for my wife getting super strong when giving birth, yes she did. Unless you have been at a birth, it's almost impossible to believe the forces imposed on the woman's body, and the effects of a combination of hormones, pain and contractions all working together.

    Regards,

    Richard.
