My advise, do not update the drivers unless there's a good reason to. Check the minimum requirements and stick around it, so you follow what the developers are using. We're not gamers we need stable drivers first. I am currently using 546.33 that's good both with daz studio and blender.
I'm guessing they could still be pointed to and used (since I've had Daz running in Linux, just slower). But the main program could then be tweaked to work natively in Linux. Or, in some cases, alternative modules used (such as the renderers Blender uses).
Hi in what model is that on the Loading Screen on the latest version of DAZ3d i need that !!
Have the Enivironment options etc changed in this version.
I used to be able to find the Eniviroment dome rotations, light etc in the render settings tab now I have them in the parameters tab when i select the enivironment thing in the scene. is this how it is now cause its frustrating having it somewhere else and having to select something else in the scene etc.
They should appear in both, but only once the settings node has been created (from the Create menu, by using Iray or Filament Drawstyle, or by doing an Iray render). I certainly see them in Render Settings then. This has been the case for a while now, I think.
So something must be going wrong for me I can't seem to get it to appear in render settings anymore, even old scenes. I'm also having trouble with IBL master.
What happens if you disable IBL Master?
Daz Studio is constantly freezing when trying to render a model in a direction. It was working fine two days ago and now it isn't. I've uninstalled and re installed and still the same result.
Has your nVidia driver been updated in the background (or deliberately)? The latest was having issues. Also, do you have the HEAT plug-in installed?
I had just gotten back into 3D rendering in September. And shocking as it may seem, was doing just fine on my AMD Ryzen 5 machine with AMD GPU (using the CPU obviously for rendering with iRay because Daz clearly didn't recognize my GPU). Daz 4.22 was phenominal on this old laptop of mine. Which blew my mind. Then this update came, and now I can get a scene set up, but as SOON as I go to use one of the light packs I have, I see my memory use in task manager spike to over 50% and my whole machine crashes. If I just add lights myself, I can get a distant light, and maybe a spotlight in, anything beyond that, again, memory use spikes and my whole system goes down. I have since reached out to Daz for a copy of 4.22 but, as I hear is the case with many, no reply. I am sad to think that the only way I will be able to get back to my passion is by saving up for an intel based machine with an Nvidia GPU. In the meantime, I am trying to see if I can just set scenes up in Daz and use the bridge to blender to set lights up and render with Blender instead. *shrugs*
Good to know. Thanks. I was coming to report all of this, but I see that you already have.
Had Nvidia studio drivers been affected by the security concerns ?
After reverting to older version l came back to 565 .90 , but n vidia talks about a 566.03 version which is not available for studio.
Ps, rendering is now Ok.
I believe it affected all drivers, Game and Studio (the Studio drivers are not actually different from the matching Game driver, it's just that Game drivers get releases sooner and so with less testing).
I wasn't prepared to do that. I ended up having to set up a scene to load on start up that included IBL and environment and that seems to be a work around.
I was meaning as a test (Help>About Installed Plug-ins and uncheck it, see if DS starts OK, then reenable in the same way if desired). But if you have a workaround that works that's good - it would be helpful if you could post a report to Daz via a ticket, however.
I am just wondering if there is any activity to roll-out a working 4.23 for macOS. Given that the now-Premier plug-ins do work as a stand-alown product, it should not be rocket science to fix those related issues.
From what I've read the current beta fixed the problems with ManFriday's plugins on Macs.
Massive problems as soon as I add a spotlight to a scene. I can't delete it. Pop up menus show up everywhere as I move the mouse around. Have to press escape to make them go away. It takes 20 secs to render the edit view instead of near instant, using texture shaded. It eventually crashes. I have sent a debug dump to Daz3d but starting to get used to them doing nothing.
That isn't very clear - this is one case where a video might help. It does, however, sound as if you may have system (driver or even hardware) issues.
Hello,
I finally bit the bullet and upgraded my DAZ Studio from version 4.21 to version 4.23 using DIM. I also updated the default resouces, scene builders and interactive lessons although DIM said that they were already installed over a year ago for some reason. Now here is the strange part. It seems that I can now run either a 4.21 version of the program or a 4.23 version of the program. Is this normal or did I mess up somewhere along the line?
Edit: Upon investigation, it seems that version 4.21 is installed under 'Program Files' and version 4.23 is installed under 'Applications" on my C: drive
Edit2: Everything seems to be working okay except version 4.23 MeasureMetrics doesn't work on Genesis 9. Any ideas why?
I need some confirmation or disconfirmation about an essential DAZ studio feature, please.
Is it true as reported in other forums, that the feature
"Save As - Support Assets - Morph Assets"
is disabled and only availeble to premier subscribers?
Does that mean, you cannot save your own created morph targets anymore, unless you are a premier subscriber?
No. Saving as morph assets is deprecated and replaced by saving as "Modifier asset", it's still available for everybody.
Thank you, and it works the same way it used to be when you are an unsubscribed free user?
AFAIK it works the same for morphs but can save more than just morphs now.
There was nothing changed from functionality perspective except for the menu Description changed from Morph Asset(s)... to Modifier Asset(s)...
Because Type of Properties in Parameters Pane are all defined as Modifier/xxx (e.g. Modifer/Shape, Modifier/Pose, Modifier/Corrective...) , naming it as Modifier Asset(s)... is more precise than Morph Asset(s)...
Modifier Assets currently include Morphs Modifiers and Push Modifiers, Conditional Graft Modifier, Line Tessellation Modifier, etc..

Edited to add omissions
I thought I got it, but NOW I'm confused again, since the morph modifier is part of the premier subscription.
Can this "modifier assets" still be used without having a Plus+ or premier membership?
Premier tier has nothing to do with saving Modifier Assets.
Premier 9and Daz+) just list all the things you get, not solely the exclusives.
You may have used the standalone installer for one of them, or moved it manually
Measure Metrics will work fine - Figure Metrics requires a wearables preset on the figure for it to work with, and Gensis 9 doesn't yet have one (from the Daz PA who made the tool or developed by a member).
