I noticed back when I installed DS 4.8 (before it blue-screened due to an Nvidia driver update) that it broke my Advanced Light (Advanced Ambient, Distant and Spotlight).
I had to re-install them.
Well...I installed 4.9 on an external drive, and same thing happened. All Advanced lights broke. Re-install fixes them. Maybe something to look into?
(...by broke, I mean they load, but all of the settings for them disappears)

I think the advanced lights are not just installed in the library, they also put stuff in the Daz Studio program directory. If you have installed Daz Studio somewhere else you need to re-install them.
Yes, the Advanced lights don't just put presets into the Content folders, there's also shader code for those presets to use. This code has to go into the D|S program folder — it needs to be reinstalled for the same reason that some plugins need to be reinstalled the first time you install one of the D|S betas.
OK it make sense now, thanks
